09 Luglio 2020
My name is Mihai Bogdan, i live in Romania. I was travelling in Bari during the 29th June - 5th of July and i rented a family car from Sicily by Car in the Bari airport on the 29th of June, with contract number 430222524.
During our stay, one day when we went to our car, we noticed a scratch on our car, on the driver's door and it looked as if another car scratched it during a parking. We had already bought an insurance and we were assured that the insurance will cover this scratch.
On the last day, when we went to handover the car to the agency, we told the representative there about the scratch and after looking at it, she confirmed the insurance will pay for this. We left relaxed, thinking everything was ok.
On the next day, when we were already back in Romania, we noticed 600 EUR were redrawn from our account by Sicily by car, without any explanation or justification (and neither their bank had any justifying documents for redrawing the money). We managed to contact them after one day and their reply was that the money were taken from our account because one of their mechanics said the scratch on the car was a vandalism act. How is this possible? How can a subjective person from their team decide the scratch was vandalism and not just an error and why are they taking our money from our account based on what their mechanic said? If they are suspicious the scratch is vandalism, both parties should appoint a third party to give a written expertise about the scratch, not their mechanic.
Please help me register a formal complaint for this issue, as i read a lot of very bad reviews about Sicily by car who is scamming almost all their customers and i do not want to leave this issue as it is.
Thank you.
Bogdan Mihai
