I booked a specific vehicle from Europcar website, a - 'Lynk & Co No 1' - to be picked up from Rome Termini and dropped off at Malpensa Airport and was quoted an amount for this vehicle or something similar which I did not receive. I specifically selected the Lynk & Co No 1 for its Satellite Navigation, Reversing Camera, other safety features, plug in hybrid, interior room for all our luggage and its recycled manufacture. The vehicle I was forced to take, in Rome under considerable protest - no choice whatsoever, was a Version 1 Cupra Formentor. This Vehicle does not have SATELITE NAVIGATION, nor does it have REVERSING CAMERAS, no approaching vehicle warning, and not enough room for our luggage etc plus you (Europcar) forced me to own a smartphone! When I complained to a Europcar representative in the parking garage at Rome Termini, which is a considerable distance plus I was given very poor directions, from the booking office, whom had extremely limited English – I was told ‘phone’ and simply walked away from me. When my wife, who can converse in Italian complained at the booking office she was very rudely brushed off by the manager, advising that there is no guarantee of built in satellite navigation and was told to use the mobile. She continued to complain and was reluctantly handed a Tom Tom which did not work which made it extremely difficult and a considerable amount of frustrating time and driving, just to exit Rome. I am loathed entirely with this customer treatment policy. I also observed in the car park right next door to the Cupra, vehicles like an Audi Q3 that have Sat Nav & Reversing Cameras as standard and would have suited our requirement and met your promise of same vehicle or similar. The Cupra does not meet this standard in any way. The navigation by phone is slow, less than accurate, in tight streets and poorly secondary to an inbuilt Navigation system - that is why I selected SAT NAV. Trying to reverse and park in Italy as a foreigner without a reversing camera is a disaster waiting to happen. The whole experience with this vehicle and Europcar has caused us enormous amount of incredible stress and displeasure and has tainted our extremely expensive European holiday. Therefor I have paid for something I did not receive which is Breach of Contract and fails all customer service standards.
